How much does it cost?
Although there is no fixed amount, the minimum cost is £12 a month, that’s just 40 pence a day to sponsor a child and offer them a better future. Sponsors can give more and this would mean that we can reach more children. Paying by Direct Debit is the most cost effective and efficient method of payment – saving you time and possible postage costs. You can arrange to pay this monthly, quarterly or annually. Alternatively, you can pay your regular donations to us by a bank or Charity Aid Foundation account cheque. A further way to pay is through a scheme called Pay As You Earn where each month £12 will be deducted from your salary. For more information about this scheme please contact Richard on 020 8939 3190.
You can also sponsor a child or children as part of a group—whether it be through school, friends or businesses. All we need is a point of contact for all the communications.
Make your gift go further by signing Gift Aid. You will increase the value of your donation by almost a third at no extra cost. A gift of £12 would be worth £15.38 with Gift Aid. Under the Gift Aid scheme, if you are a UK taxpayer, we can reclaim the income tax you have already paid on your sponsorship donations at the basic rate.
How often will I hear from my sponsored child?
You will receive a letter from each child at the end of each term to update on their progress. As well as this we will send you updates on the work that we are carrying out in the child’s community and an annual project report.
Can I contact my sponsored child?
We really encourage you to write to your sponsored child. Many sponsors write regularly, others send a letter once a year. However often you write we promise that letters, postcards and photos will be cherished and children find it easier to write back if they are already receiving letters. The best way to send correspondence to the children is c/o the African Revival office in London - Garrick House, 161 High Street, Hampton Hill, TW12 1NG, UK.
How long do I sponsor a child for?
You may sponsor a child for as long as you wish, whilst they remain in the project. Whilst we do not set a minimum period, nursery school lasts for two years and then primary and secondary school education goes up until the ages of sixteen or eighteen. This means that you could sponsor a child throughout their childhood and see them grow and progress.
