Post Conflict Aid to Farmers |
Northern Uganda has been torn apart by war for the past 20 years resulting in genocide with many surviving families losing their homes and livelihoods as a result.
We have just begun a programme which helps farmers return to their land from Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Northern Uganda, by providing a start up package of a plough and oxen, seeds and equipment. Our hopes are to develop this further this year.

Schools Linking Programme in Gulu & Amaru Districts |
We facilitate links between schools in the UK and schools in Gulu and Amuru Districts in northern Uganda. We are currently looking for UK schools to participate in the Uganda Schools Linking programme from September 2007.
Linking benefits children in both countries through educational and cultural enrichment, and is a great way of incorporating the global dimension into teaching. African Revival will provide details of a school to link with, a resource pack, assemblies and workshops, and lots of support to make your link a success.

Wilson Lutara: A man of Africa |
Last year Michael Wynne-Parker, Chairman of the Guild of Travel and Tourism and a consultant to several public and private companies, wrote Wilson Lutara: A Man of Africa for African Revival. In the words of Nikoloi Tolstoy, who writes a foreword in the book.
Wilson Lutara’s story is one of extraordinary perseverance against daunting odds, and provides a vivid picture from within the world of African politics that often seems so confusing to Western observers.
He is a man of wisdom, humanity, and delightful humour. In particular he reveals much that was hitherto unknown about the nightmare tyranny of Idi Amin in Lutara’s native Uganda.
Michael Wynne-Parker has performed a signal service in making his story publicly available, and I hope it will receive a wide readership.
For more information or to order the book please contact James Smith on: 020 8939 3190 or email: james.smith@africanrevival.org.

Grace Christian Academy (GCA) |
GCA, established in 1985, is a primary school, situated in the Gulu municipality in Northern Uganda, which receives no funding from the Ugandan government. It aims to care for and educate children that have lost one or both parents through the war or HIV/Aids. It currently offers education to 1200 children.
Not only are the salaries for the teaching and support staff met by funds from African Revival but we also provide the children with a midday meal of porridge. This is often their only meal of the day, and improves their ability to concentrate for study. UK donations allow African Revival to send educational equipment and clothing.
In 2005 we funded a Nursery Block for the school, and have recently built the kitchen. We have commenced the building of a Medical Centre adjacent to the school to meet the needs of the children from GCA and the surrounding areas. Plans for next year include building a new classroom block.
A borehole has been sunk on the school grounds from which they can pump clean water. This will supply uncontaminated water to the children and staff at GCA.

Gulu Primary School for the Blind |
We have recently funded a wall to be built around Gulu Primary School. This wall helps protect the school from trespassers, define school land and provide much needed security for the 57 blind students. We have also supplied equipment and educational aides for the school.
