£4,000 towards building Maziba Farm School and pre-school in Zambia. This school will serve primary school children whose parents work on African Revival’s Farm as well as farms and villages in the surrounding area. When African Revival took on the lease of our farm in Zambia only 4 out of the 260 people living on the farm could read or write. This school will begin to change that.
£4,000 towards buying a 4x4 car to enable our team to travel safely around the IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps in Northern Uganda as they work with some of the most remote schools in the district.
£4,500 to pay for 5 people to undertake a years Vocational Training in Yei, Southern Sudan, giving essential practical skills to local people as the Southern Sudanese attempt to rebuild after decades of conflict.
£10,000 will be kept back to go towards supporting and supplementing new projects with our linked schools in Northern Uganda from money raised by children in UK schools.
£38,160 to run Grace Academy, our primary school in Northern Uganda for 1500 children orphaned through HIV/ Aids or through conflict, for a year. This sum contributes towards teachers’ salaries and a midday meal for all children, often their only substantial meal each day.
£21,740 to run our education program in Eastern Uganda for a year. Through this project we reduced class sizes in 2 schools from 180 to 60, by building new classroom blocks and providing additional teachers and teaching assistants. We also pioneered a more interactive way of learning through small groups, rather than the ‘chalk and talk’ which is still typical in Eastern Uganda. This has made a major difference to the educational attainment of the children in our program.
