Who we are

We are a small organisation based in London, UK. African Revival was created to transform lives by supporting self-sustaining projects in Africa.

Our aim is to make a positive and sustainable difference to people's lives in Africa by helping them to help themselves.

We work in partnership with local community leaders and trusted partners to identify areas of need.  All our projects are monitored closely to ensure we are providing effective and appropriate support to best improve beneficiaries’ quality of life.

Our board of trustees come from a variety of backgrounds and bring with them expertise in the commercial, educational, legal, and marketing fields.  They meet on a regular basis to discuss the issues concerning the charity and its operations, and members regularly visit Africa to inspect existing projects and evaluate possible new ventures.

Our Objectives

  • To build, support and sustain projects in Africa.
  • To work in marginalized rural districts to initiate projects in nutrition, food, security, water, health, education and micro-finance.
  • To empower families and communities to improve their health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on children.
  • To work where there is extreme humanitarian need and where we can make a real difference.
  • To remain a “friend” providing technical support and assistance after the project has become fully sustainable.

Our Partners

In Uganda, we work with Grace Christian Academy, a school run by Wilson and Tabitha Lutara, caring for children orphaned in the on-going civil war with the LRA rebels. Please see our work in Northern Uganda for more information.

Gulu Health Centre is supported by C.U.P (Cobham Uganda Partnership).

We have recently formed a partnership with Daniel’s Dream, a small local charity providing help in renovating an orphanage, feeding and schooling children in Kampala, Uganda.

In Malawi we have two main partners - Starfish and Microloan.

In Sudan we are working with John and Poppy Spens who are volunteering for a year and are running both the health centre and vocational training centre in Yei.

Wherever possible, African Revival shares administration costs and expertise with other charities working in the same field.  COME UK, whose work focuses in Gulu, and UDS (Uganda Development Services) working on rural development projects in Eastern Uganda, are two such charities.
