Water and sanitation
Average safe water coverage for Northern Uganda is less than 60% - a figure that is improving since peace has arrived in the region.
Our water and sanitation programme focuses mainly on drilling boreholes in the schools that we work with as part of our education programme. We have drilled boreholes in the following 11 schools in the Gulu and Amuru districts:
Gulu Town, Laroo, Obiya West, Tochi, Cubu, Kirombe, Kaladima, Labourline, St Martin’s Lukome primary, Holy Rosary and Grace Christian Academy (GCA).
As the number of schools requiring boreholes reduces, we are now moving to develop small water projects in schools, accompanied by sanitation projects.
